Application Guide — Getting the Best Bond Quality
Step 1: Match Application Temperature to Your Edge Bander
Set the glue pot temperature according to the grade you’re using. Do not exceed the upper limit — over heating EVA causes carbonization, which clogs the glue roller and produces dark streaks on your bond line.
Step 2: Allow Full Preheating
- Cold pot to working temperature: 20–30 minutes
- Do not start production until the temperature has stabilized (fluctuation under ±3°C)
- Running production before full preheat is the cause of weak bonds on the first 20–30 panels of the shift
Step 3: Match Open Time to Feed Speed
The glue’s open time must be longer than your machine’s transit time from glue roller to pressure roller. Otherwise, the glue starts setting before pressing — resulting in a weak bond.
Step 4: Maintain the Glue Pot
- Clean the glue pot every 80–120 production hours using cleaning granules
- Never mix our hot melt glue with another brand in the same pot — different additive packages cause carbonization
- Keep the pot lid closed when not in use to prevent oxidation
Step 5: Storage Conditions
Store unopened bags in a dry environment below 30°C. EVA granules can absorb ambient moisture, which causes foaming in the glue pot and bond defects. Follow FIFO (first in, first out) for stock rotation.
