Our edge banding black hot melt adhesive granules are available in natural beige and transparent colors, designed for both medium and high-temperature applications.

This EVA-based hot melt adhesive is specifically formulated for bonding PVC edge bands to wood board edges. It is compatible with full automatic, semi-automatic, and manual edge banding machines, making it versatile for a range of production environments.

The adhesive is suitable for various machine speeds and features excellent melting properties, strong bonding strength, and exceptional heat resistance, all without stringing.

• 150°C – 180°C: Ideal for portable edgebanders such as our Aaron PEB50/CEB50 and Co-Matic BR500/AR500.
• 180°C – 210°C: Perfect for most fully automatic edgebanders.

Application Tips

• The materials being bonded must be clean, dry, and devoid of dust, oil, and grease.
• Hot melt glue must be applied at the appropriate temperature.
• The temperature of the materials and environment can influence adhesion:
• Too hot, the glue takes too long to cure.
• Too cold, and the glue hardens before the materials are joined.
• The amount of glue applied will have a significant impact on the bond.
• Too little, and the glue will cool too rapidly, sometimes before the connection has been fully formed.
• Too much glue stops the bond from cooling before coming out of compression, enabling it to separate.

EVA hot melt adhesives will always outperform EVA adhesives. EVA hot melt adhesives are classified as filled and unfilled adhesives. Filled adhesives are generally less costly and contain, in addition to adhesive resins, fillers such as chalk that can help prevent wire drawing at low speeds. Unfilled hot melt adhesives can be applied thinner to provide a tighter bond, offering high glue life and high ultimate bond strength. When using hot melt adhesive adhesives, chemical crosslinking is achieved within a few days.

However, it is important to store the bonded materials above 15°C, that is, below 15°C, in order for full curing to occur and the curing process stops. Not all edgebanders are equipped to run hot melt adhesive. Luyao hardware cannot spread rapidly due to its high cost. The very important thing when using luyao hot melt adhesive is to clean the adhesive melting tank and applicator (nozzle/roller) after use with a suitable cleaning agent – unlike EVA adhesives, luyao adhesives do not melt again once cured.
