What 3mm PVC Edge Banding Actually Is
Our 3mm pvc edge banding is composed of three layers, an stabilized PVC base layer to provide impact resistance, a decorative printed or solid color layer, and a UV-cured top layer that is resistant to scratches, household chemicals, and discoloration. The 3mm pvc edge banding tape strip size comes with either naked backing for using with water based or hot melt adhesive, or with pre-applied thermal adhesive for those who prefer factory applied tape strips.
What makes the 3mm PVC edgebanding so special is the visual effect: when radius profiles are used to round over the corner (r=2 mm or r=3 mm), the edge looks like solid material instead of a thin laminate strip. PRODUCTION PROCESS
The production process for the 3mm pvc edge banding of LUYAO:
1. Receiving of raw material – PVC resin batch is lot tested for melt flow index and impact strength prior to release to the extruder. Off-spec resin is quarantined, not “blended in” as some factories do.
2. Compounding — By weight feeder a combination of PVC, stabilizers, plasticizers, and color masterbatch. The gravimetric step is indeed what keeps Delta-E ≤ 1.5 for reorders.
3. Extrusion — Single-screw extrusion at 180–195 °C (356–373 °F) through a precision die for 3mm pvc edge banding thickness. Inline thickness gauge records readings every 200 mm.
4. Cooling and calibration — Water bath plus vacuum sizer locks the 3.0 mm cross-section prior to the band stiffens.
5. Printing or solid-color processing — Gravure printing for woodgrains, in-line tinting for solids. Embossing roller rolls a tactile texture.
6. UV top coat — Roller-applied UV-cured lacquer, two passes for super-matte finishes. This is the layer that controls scratch resistance.
7. Slitting and edge profiling — Master roll slit to ordered width for the range of available pvc edge banding sizes . Edges deburred so the band fits smoothly into automatic edgebanders.
8. QC and packing — Color spectrophotometer, thickness micrometer, peel test on pre-glued variants. Pass-rate logged per roll. Rolls boxed with desiccant, labeled with batch QR, and palletized.

Packaging : rolls boxed individually with desiccant, palletized on heat treated wood, wrapped with shrink pack and quarter protected. The pallets are the same size as standard I. S. O. containers so that no vacant space will be left.
