Quality Control and Testing

After production, the melamine-faced boards undergo strict quality control inspections to verify they meet standards for appearance and physical performance

Appearance and Dimensional Checks

• Visual Inspection: The surface is checked for defects like stains, scratches, indentations, bubbles, or color mismatches under standardized lighting
• Dimensional Accuracy: Length, width, and thickness deviations must not exceed specified tolerances (e.g., ±2 mm for length/width)
• Warpage: The warpage is measured and must be below a set percentage (e.g., 0.5% for a 3-12 mm thick board) to ensure flatness

Performance and Physical Tests

• Surface Durability: Tests include scratch resistance (≥1.5N) and abrasion resistance (measured by wear value and pattern retention after grinding)
• Heat and Moisture Resistance: Surface is checked for cracks or bubbles after dry heat tests and cold/heat cycles. Water swelling rate is kept low (e.g., ≤8%)
• Strength and Formaldehyde: Tests ensure adequate static bending strength, internal bond strength, and that formaldehyde emissions meet safety standards (e.g., E1 grade)
