Edge Banding Quality
This includes the entire edge banding manufacturing quality assurance system with rigorous dimensional examinations conducted at every stage of production in order to ensure that every roll complies with your specifications. We have specialized QC personnel based at our extrusion, slitting and winding lines, they are performing continuous real-time monitoring plus 100% final inspection on all finished edge band rolls. All production rounds are with full inspection records, and we keep monthly quality review meeting on disposing of abnormalities.
How does Luyao decide on edge Banding quality
This is the in process dimensional QC for width and thickness. Our manufacturing team is obligated to test the thickness and width of the edge band during the run and after the run. All lines are equipped with fully automatic length measuring meters to monitor the linear meterage of edge banding in real time, providing super accurate length information with minimum tolerance deviation. At regular intervals, inspectors cross-check measurements with digital calipers to ensure the width is uniform and the thickness consistent throughout the roll.
This is the post winding finished roll inspection. After slitting and winding, all finished edge band rolls are gathered and piled up for batch packaging. During this centralized process, a visual examination is performed on each roll by our qc team to identify defects such as irregular roll diameters, mismatched roll diameters, loose and tight rolls, as well as ragged band edges. Any rolls with size inconsistencies or winding defects will be removed and rewound prior to packing.
This is the last stage in final finished goods quality control prior to shipment. We do 100% full inspection for all the edge band rolls, we double check the core indicators include width, thickness, total linear meterage, surface finish, and winding consistency with customer specifications. We provide a separate quality inspection report for each batch of edge banding, verifying all dimensional parameters, roll appearance and rolling quality meet your order specifications in full prior to packaging and shipment.
Dimension Inspection In the Process of Manufacturing
All operators of production are required to take periodic width and thickness readings at mid run and at the end of each roll after winding. We perform on-site spot checks using precision digital calipers to enforce the dimensional tolerances. Each production line is equipped with fully automatic counters to ensure that the customer never receives rolls with wrong length. Any strips that fail to meet the dimension requirements are separated and reworked immediately on the shop floor.
Uniform Roll Sorting to Avoid Uneven Coils
After winding, all rolls of finished edge band are moved to one sorting station for batch sorting prior to packagings. Our QC team organizes all the coils in a line on pallets for a complete visual inspection. When rolls are stacked side-by-side, inspectors can quickly notice any irregularities, such as uneven coil diameters, loose winding or misshapen rolls. All uneven size coils are separated to removed them from rest of good stock so that you do not mix defective goods in finished packages.
Test for matching the grain and color synchronization
In addition to size control, we carry out 100% appearance inspections for wood grain edge bands. Our QC team place the edge band samples side by side with the matching furniture boards to check for grain synchronization, color variation, and surface gloss. Each coil is marked with unique color codes to trace the entire batch. We restrict color variation over separate production runs, so you can be confident that your mdf, particleboard and plywood cabinet panels will match perfectly.”
Color Code and Batch Label Check
Each wood-grain edge band roll is labeled with a unique color code label. Inspectors select at random samples from piled coils to verify the label with the strip texture and color physically. This step eliminates wrong color shipments and ensures that all products are color matched to the color references provided by customers at the order application.”
Secondary Finished Goods Inspection in Warehouse
All approved edge band rolls in the colors white, solid color and wood grain are piled in individual pallets zones according to width, thickness, color series. At the carton packing stage, warehouse QC staffs reinspect every stack, rechecking roll meterage, dimension and rolling quality at the second time. Various color families are separated into different locations to avoid mixing of different order specification. Random sampling is done daily across all stock pallets to ensure long-term stable quality.
Final Pre-Shipping Carton Inspection
All quality approved coils of edge banding go into uniform carton packaging. Carton is divided based on outer dimension specifications and transparent exteriors labels on each carton stating on each on information about the width, thickness, total meters, color code and production batc. Before cartons are sealed the warehouse staff conduct a last random inspection to ensure that there are no uneven coils, dimensional mistakes, or surface imperfections, so that is delivers fully qualified products to furniture manufactures around the world.
Our entire quality control process consists of in-line dimensional testing, coil sorting, re-inspection of stock and final checks before delivery. We eliminate the typical customer pain points, such as width/thickness instability, wrong length counts and uneven roll sizes, and provide a stable, premium edge banding to the leading global furniture manufacturers.
