To extend the life of your PVC edge banding, consider painting it. Here’s how to properly prepare a surface for painting:

• Clean the surface: Make sure the edge banding is free of dust and debris for optimal paint adhesion.
• Prepare the adhesive: Use hot melt adhesive to enhance adhesion. Allow to dry before proceeding.
• Cover the raw edges: Protecting the unsightly raw edges of PVC furniture not only improves aesthetics, but also prevents moisture and insect damage.

Application tips

Cut the edge banding: Trim the edge banding to one inch longer than the length of the panel.
Check the seams: Check for any visible seams, which are usually invisible after a clear coat is applied.
Using a hot melt adhesive that is suitable for painting will ensure a strong bond. For best results, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the adhesive and painting process.
