Unglued Edging
This edging option does not come with adhesives and is recommended for trade customers who have experience applying edging using a professional edge banding machine.
Pre-Glued Edging (<1mm Thick)
This product features hot melt glue, making it suitable for hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts. Here’s how to install it:
- Align the Edging: Position the back of the edging with the timber surface you wish to cover.
- Apply Heat: Use a heat gun to apply heat to the edging face. An iron can also be used effectively.
- Ensure Adhesion: Once the glue has melted, apply pressure to the edging to secure adhesion. Placing a heavy object, such as a block or another board, on top of the edging works wonders.
- Cooling the Adhesive: If using an iron, after ironing down the edging, wipe the veneer with a damp cloth to cool and set the adhesive. Any areas that did not adhere properly can be reheated to activate the glue and then cooled again with the damp cloth.
- Finishing Touches: Excess edging can be trimmed or sanded to achieve a neat, professional finish.
